. tell the world i'm coming home . the sky was cloudy and overcast when mckenna walked outside. she looked up, seeing the clouds gathering and darking with each step she took, and she didn't really mind that. she was secretly hoping to see a bit of lightning (being an electric manipulator, lightning was something she was excited about learning to control) and hopefully get her hands on some. she still had so many things that she simply didn't know about herself, like the question of whether or not she could be shocked. as she walked to the beach, she could feel how tense the air was, holding in the awaiting thunder and rain. the sand sunk around her feet and she threw off her sandals as the consistency began to change into a motley mix of shells and grains. she felt them cut into her feet and though it hurt, she was so bored that she couldn't be convinced to turn back. she realized that if she wasn't shock proof, she could be killed, standing near a large body of water in the midst of a brooding storm. however, the concept was dangerous, the thought was generally appealing. and so mckenna went about walking into the water of the lake, fully clothed, in the middle of a storm. the perfectly logical choice for a mutant teen. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- .
